Before construction began on the Garden Roofs, additional structural support was incorporated into the existing structure to accommodate the anticipated loading of the new roof decks on levels 7 and 9. The conventional TPO roofs were removed, and new concrete decks were poured and protected with Monolithic Membrane 6125.
The level 7 roof is a passive space, featuring serpentine boardwalks through beds of native grasses and perennials, a large wooden arbor, fire pit, and beautiful views of the Seattle Skyline. The level 9 roof is a more traditional amenity deck comprised of wood decking and a series of large planters to break up the space.
